Extended Hours

What qualifies?

Our extended hours clinics are to provide our patients with convenient access to one of our physicians in order to deal with quick, urgent problems. If you feel this is an emergency, you should always call 911 or go to the local Emergency Department.

Please note, we do not see patients for the following:

  • Broken bones

  • Dislocations

  • Fever on any baby up to 3 months  

  • Chest pain

  • Heart attack

  • Stroke

  • Numbness/weakness on one side

  • Acute abdominal pain 

  • Confusion 

  • Vomiting and cannot eat/drink properly 

  • Assault/attacks/stabbings

  • Eye injuries 

  • Rapid vision loss/ blindness

  • Loss of consciousness 

  • Seizures/Epilepsy 

  • Head injuries

  • Severe headaches 

  • Major psychiatric disorders /psychosis / Suicidal ideation, acute intoxication, withdrawal, 

  • Overdose / Poisoning 

  • Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy 

  • Severe allergic reactions

  • Forms: Disability forms, insurance forms, work-related forms and assessment for competency

Refills

If you are running low on a medication, the extended-hours physician may be able to give you a short supply but will encourage you to make an appointment with your regular physician for a full refill. No narcotic, benzodiazepine, or stimulant medications will be refilled during these clinics.
